Overview

The 2nd GEOS-Chem Asia meeting (GCA2) was to be held on August 31 - September 2, 2020 at the Zhijiang Hotel in Hangzhou, China. The meeting is postponed on account of coronavirus.

GEOS-Chem is a global/regional model of atmospheric composition used by a large research community worldwide for a very wide range of applications. GEOS-Chem Asia meetings are organized every two years by the Joint NUIST-Harvard Laboratory for Air Quality and Climate (JLAQC) to benefit the Asian community using GEOS-Chem and to supplement the International GEOS-Chem meetings (IGC) held at Harvard in alternate years. See the Presentations and Posters from the GCA1 meeting held at NUIST in May 2018.

The scope of GCA2 encompasses all topics of research in atmospheric composition and air quality, not restricted to Asia. All research scientists, students, and stakeholders worldwide are welcome to attend and contribute presentations. For GEOS-Chem users, the meeting will provide a platform for sharing information about the model and learning about new model developments. Model tutorials for beginning and experienced users will be offered as part of the meeting. Working Group breakouts will fous on specific aspects of the model. More information on the meeting program can be found here.

We thank JLAQC for providing financial support for GCA2.

For questions regarding the meeting please contact Prof. Xu Yue (NUIST, local organizer), Prof. Hong Liao (NUIST, GEOS-Chem Steering Committee member and local host), or Daniel Jacob (Harvard, GEOS-Chem model scientist).

We look forward to seeing you in Hangzhou!
